SolaX T-BAT HS

LFP modules — 7.2kWh up to 46.8kWh.

Our most adaptable option. This is a high-voltage lithium iron phosphate system, and every module you add brings another 3.6kWh. Two modules is the smallest build; thirteen is the largest. Safety and monitoring across the whole stack sit with a BMS master control unit.

Sungrow SBH

Modules rated for outdoors — 20kWh to 40kWh.

Built for the weather. The SBH is outdoor-rated and comes with weatherproof covers and a foundation kit, so a bigger battery need not take over your garage. Modules hold 5kWh each, and four to eight of them give you 20 to 40kWh.

Everything in one column. ESA modules sit beneath GoodWe’s all-in-one inverter, which handles the solar conversion, the charging and the battery management in a single unit. GoodWe backs it to hold at least 70% of its original capacity across the 10-year warranty.

Before any money changes hands, we’ll work out with you whether storage is worth it at your place.

Not every home needs one.
Your quarterly bill, whatever system is already on the roof and the times of day you draw power all go into it. Some households come out ahead with storage and some don’t, and we’ll tell you which one you are. That answer loses us work sometimes. We can live with that.

Do I actually need one?

Plenty of homes don’t. How much you use, what’s already installed and the hours you draw power all count. Where storage doesn’t stack up, we’ll tell you plainly.

Can I add capacity down the track?

You can — all three are modular. The SolaX T-BAT HS runs from two modules (7.2kWh) up to thirteen (46.8kWh). The Sungrow SBH takes four modules through to eight. Each GoodWe ESA module brings another 8.32kWh.

What does LFP mean?

It stands for lithium iron phosphate, widely regarded as the safest of the lithium chemistries: it handles heat better and lasts more cycles than the older lithium-ion types. Both the T-BAT HS and the GoodWe ESA are built on it.

Does it have to go indoors?

Not always. The Sungrow SBH is rated for outdoor installation and arrives with weatherproof covers and a foundation kit. Where your battery can sit is something we settle during the assessment at your place.

What inverter has to go with it?

Every battery has its own list of hybrid inverters. The T-BAT HS works with SolaX’s X1-VAST, X3-Hybrid and X3-ULT; the SBH with Sungrow’s SH-RS and SH-T; the ESA battery only with GoodWe’s ESA all-in-one. The pairing is written on your quote. Browse our inverters.

How long are they warranted for?

Each of the three comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty. GoodWe adds a performance guarantee on the ESA: at least 70% of original capacity across that period.
